Hidden Treasures

AND DID I MENTION....
I finally got to check out HIDDEN TREASURES in Topanga Canyon??? It was the ultimate, greatest coincidence. I needed to meet up with a knitwear designer at the post office in Topanga near her home. I mean, I've always known that Hidden Treasures was in Topanga Canyon and I was pretty bummed out when I crossed things off my to-do list and Hidden Treasures was still left hanging there. If you clicked on the link, you'll notice that I forgot the name of the place and that I mistakenly thought it was in Tujunga (same shit, just another 'T' name). Anyway... I met the woman (who by the way was extremely chill) and I noticed that some feet away was HIDDEN TREASURES. What the heck?! I'm sorry if you're thinking "who gives a crap?" because you're not as easily amused as I am especially when vintage is involved. It's like each cute little vintage number has a story to tell and I'm definitely one for stories. Sadly, I walked out empty handed. I need to return there :)

WHAT I HAVE PLANNED IN CONCRETE FOR THE NEXT MONTH:

• 3 concerts! (Ke$ha, Blink 182, BLONDIE<3) - just added Jack's Mannequin!
• lonely (but adventurous) drive up to SF for the weekend
• do something completely different to my hair
• exercise every Sunday afternoon to prepare for my half marathon  - in the works

WHAT I'D LIKE TO DO IN THE NEXT MONTH:

• Visit Shareen's Vintage, and that one other place in Tujunga that I sadly forgot the name of!!
• Purchase a vintage dress and possibly black, ankle combat boots - and wear them together - bought 2 dresses!
• create an eBay store to sell my old clothes - much needed! - decided to donate my clothes instead.
• Finish my book - almost there!
• Find the time to knock off at least 5 movies on my Movies to Watch list - my list gets bigger every week. i'll save it for another time
• Watch The Help in theaters - maybe i'll go by myself. i don't mind!
• MAKE MY FIRST "HOW-TO" BLOG POST!!!! - I've got a brilliant idea that I've never seen a blogger talk about which I believe needs to be addressed. Ready? "How to Turn Your Sexy Clothes into Not-So-Slutty Day Clothes"

So... I'm going to be running the Hollywood Half Marathon in April 2012 and I'm going to support Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in September 2012 in Santa Barbara. 12 mile run and a 2-day 39.1 mile walk. I've got to start raising $1800 by next year for the breast cancer walk! I've already begun sketching out a few button ideas which I'm actually very excited for!

Speaking of Rue Electric buttons .... I have a shipment of new product coming in next week! Still in the process of designing 3 for this new crap. it's pretty exciting. Let me just give ya'll a hint...

New Obsession!

AHA!

A good friend of mine who is a photographer has always been doing good and keeping me in the loop of his fave editorials and/or interesting finds (especially if it has to do with Taylor Swift.... if you're reading this, shoot this blog post a holla!)

Last night, he introduced me to PINTEREST which will get you on there exploring for hours (as he tested it out to be). I'm treating it to be like my own google images search engine. So much inspiration can come from this! It seems to be like a Flickr mixed with a side of Tumblr... but for some reason, I find this website a lot easier to use than either of them. sorry!

I've got a sort of "thing" for bridal. It's beautiful. Not the lovey-dovey side to it... but the art of it. The gown and coordination between the colors and decorations and themes. I've always wanted a vintage-inspired wedding.. and none of those typical wedding photos. I want those candid shots that truly tell a thousand words. None of that cheesy videography. It's soOoOoO boring! Let's hope my supposed husband-to-be is fond of that idea!
